Privacy policy

Last updated: 24 October 2026

SkillBld is a learning website. We collect as little as we can: you can read the free courses without an account, we don't show advertising, and we don't use tracking cookies.

What we store

If you don't have an account

Nothing about you is stored on our servers. Your browser keeps two things on your own device:

  • Your progress: which lessons you finished and your quiz scores, so you can pick up where you left off.
  • Your theme: light or dark mode.

You can remove them at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.

Visit statistics (everyone)

We use Vercel Web Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages are popular, so we know which courses to improve and add. It records the page you viewed, the site you came from, and your country, browser, operating system and device type. It doesn't use cookies, doesn't store your IP address, and can't identify you: visits are counted with an anonymous identifier that changes every day. We only see totals, never individual visitors.

If you create an account

  • Account details: your email address and, if you choose, a password (stored only as a secure hash). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google.
  • Learning progress: the lessons you completed and your best quiz score for each day, so your progress follows you across devices.
  • Sign-in cookies: small cookies that keep you signed in. They are needed for the site to work and are not used for tracking.

We use this information only to run your account and show your progress. We don't sell it or share it for marketing.

Your choices and rights

  • Use the site without an account. Free courses work fully without signing up.
  • Reset your progress. Clear this site's data in your browser to remove local progress.
  • Access or delete your data. To get a copy of your data, or to delete your account and everything linked to it, contact us at the contact address on this page (coming soon). We'll respond within 30 days.

Depending on where you live (for example in the EU or UK), you may have further rights, such as correcting your data or objecting to how it's used. Contact us to use them.

How long we keep data

We keep your account and progress for as long as your account exists. When you ask us to delete your account, your progress is deleted with it.

Children

The site isn't aimed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly create accounts for them.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle data, for example if we add advertising, we'll update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
